Special Education Consultant Hired!

McRae-Gaines Impact and Evaluation Committee has hired Ms. Candice Pettaway, as our Special Education Consultant.

Ms. Pettaway will be responsible for the establishment of special education systems, routines, and processes, training MGLC staff on special education service delivery and progress monitoring and keeping the Board of Directors abreast of all relevant federal, state and local statute requirements.

In her application Ms. Pettaway wrote, “As a native of historic Selma and an alumna of McRae-Gaines Learning Center, I believe in the power of community. Therefore, my research and work in Educational Policy Studies focus on African-centered strategies to address the systematic disparities that harm the opportunity for an appropriate education for all children.”
